This ritual allows you to trace the lineage of a target by winning on a simple test, you may keeping going, giving you the targets sire's sire and so on up the family tree as long as you keep winning tests. One failure means the ritual must be started over to get higher up the tree. Brand of the Paramour - As per LotN: StG Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: Until the ghoul is embraced of killed Components: a blood trait from a set of mortal twins (two traits total), mixed together, and drunk by caster and the ghoul to be maintained. Availability: 6th Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. The vampire knows the physical condition of her ghoul, by feeling phantom wounds of real wounds taken bye the ghoul. No damage actually is taken by the caster. Calling the Restless Spirit - As per LoE Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: 5 minutes Components: you must be within 10 feet of the ghost's corpse, or in a place it is known to haunt. Availability: 7th Apprentice, House High Saturday Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. Summon a ghost to converse with. The ritual cannot force the ghost, however to answer. This ritual works on kindred that met final death but were not diablerized. The Carrion Fly Delayed - As per House of Tremere Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: Components: Flesh removed from a still living creature and passed through the smoke of a censer burning alchemical salts. Availability: Regent Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. This ritual preserves flesh for long periods of time to be used in rituals. It can also be used to preserve blood for long periods of time. It can preserves up to 5 blood points or 100 pounds of flesh for up to a week plus another 5 blood points or 100 pounds for an additional week per mental trait spent at the time of casting. Refrigerators make this ritual less used in modern times. Communicate with Kindred Sire - As per LotN: R Time Required: 30 minutes. Dust of Remembrance - As per House of Tremere Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: Until disturbed Components: the caster cuts off one of his own fingers allowing it to crumble to dust as he grows a new one, then he combines the dust with myrrh, wine dregs, silver powder, and salt extracted from the tears of a child. The mixture is allowed to dry and then chanted over resulting in a white powder. The powder is then sprinkled over an Object. The dust from one casting may be placed on 20 objects, and the caster is aware of which object has been moved. Encrypt Missive- As per LotN: StG Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: Permanent Components: a message written in blood, then the name of the one to read it spoken aloud. Availability: 4th Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. Creates a message only the intended person and caster can read. Engaging in the Vessel of Transference - As per LotN Time Required: 3 hours. Duration: until used (target get cold chill) Components: blood in a container, sealed, with an engraved rune on it. Availability: 6th Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. This ritual creates a vessel to act as a conduit of blood, essentially switching the blood in the magic container with the blood of the victim. The target can be blood bonded in this manner. Enhancing the Curse - As per LotN: StG Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: 1 month Components: scratching or striking the target ghoul in such a manner as to draw blood, and speaking a curse. This is a one month lasting ritual that gives ghouls the same light vulnerability that vampires experience. Impressive Visage - As per LotN: StG Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: one night Components: chants and gestures ended by placing a dried sprig of mint in either the right shoe or pocket. Grants 2 additional Appearance-related Social Traits for the evening, these traits can not be bid. The Imp's Affliction - As per LotN: StG Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: 1 scene, or hour Components: A scrap of paper you have written the target's name on. Availability: 3rd Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. Mortal victims are infected with uncomfortable and embarrassing illnesses (badly running nose, eyes full of tears, cough, and sore throat.) Incantation of the Shepherd (as per TT Cam Guide pg. 110) Time Required: Five minutes. Duration: Five minutes Components: a glass object held over each of the caster's eyes Availability: 2nd Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. The caster needs to spin slowly in a circle while holding some sort of glass object over each of his eyes. He can thereby locate his entire herd, starting with the closest member and ending with the most distant. The Thaumaturgist enacting this ritual must have tasted the blood of each vessel that he is trying to locate on at least three separate nights. Mechanics: This Ritual will tell you the distance and direction of every mortal in your herd, relative to you. If you have no herd, it gives you the last 3 mortals you drank from. This may reduce the time you sit out for feeding scenes or herd uses. It Steals Your Whispers - As per House of Tremere Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: 10 minutes for every dose of the elixir one drinks. Components: an ear taken form a human, which must be sawed off using a small silver saw with the image of Hades on the handle. The ear is dipped in to vampire blood which is used to make an elixir. The elixir is used to coat a copper horn. Three points of blood must be spent making the elixir; extra doses of the elixir can be made by spending blood on a one to one ratio. Availability: Regent Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. By drinking the elixir you can 'hear' anything within human earshot of the ear coated with the elixir. The sound seems to come from the horn coated in the elixir. During this time the drinker can not hear sounds around himself. The ear can be reused by the original caster, but each time the same ear is reused, the difficulty on the ritual goes up by 2 traits. Jinx - As per LotN: StG Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: one scene Components: a blood trait from the target Availability: 7th Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. The Cainite suffers terrible bad luck. Under this ritual, anything that can go wrong does, however nothing as bad as to cause damage. Learning the Mind Enslumbered - As per LotN: StG Time Required: 30 minutes. Duration: the full half hour Components: pennies placed over the body's eyes. Availability: 5th Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. Learn the cause of a Kindred's torpor or death; you need the body or ashes. The spirit of the kindred whispers the details of its current state to the caster. Membranous Appropriation - As per House of Tremere Time Required: 60 minutes. Duration: requires a blood point a week to maintain Components: Reconstituted skin that appears in the ritualist's alchemical apparatus after a Cainite has been attacked by skin eaters, the ritualist must take care that the skin is only from one individual. He then kneads the skin like bread dough, and then cooks it over an oven heated not by flame but by vis. half way through cooking it is removed and sculpted in to either a right hand or a mask like face. The skin is then returned it to the oven periodically basting it with alum, pine resin, and powdered serpent scales. This ritual requires 3 Blood traits to create. Availability: Regent Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. The hand or face will reproduce the movements of the target whose skin was used in the ritual. A hand is placed at the end of copper rods so that it has full arm movement and a mask in a rounded metal frame. If the target writes something a pen may be placed in the hand to faithfully recreate what the target is writing. The mask will speak when the target speaks. Mourning Life Curse - As per LotN: StG Time Required: 60 minutes. Duration: until the caster breaks off his or her gaze from the target Components: crocodile blood, distilled 3 times drank by the caster. A paste of copal oil, ground eyebright, and dates that is dabbed on the targets eyes as the caster recites two lines the target must be able to hear. Availability: 1st Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. This ritual causes mortal to weep blood tears (which can be drank). One blood point will be lost every 5 minutes. Some Tremere use this to feed on sleeping mortals. No other actions can be taken as the ritual requires the Tremere's full focus to maintain. Now Its Sight is Ours - As per House of Tremere Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: 10 minutes per dose drank Components: a 3 inch gold pin, wire, small golden claw set in a rooster's foot, the casters blood, and a human victim with at least one healthy eye. The victim start out bound gagged and blindfolded, the blind fold is removed and a bright light shone in the humans face. Using a caliper the caster removes the desired eye. The eye must not be damaged in the process. Incantations are recited as the eye is pierced with a pin. The pin is attached to the wire and the wire to the claw. The eye is drawn through the smoke of several censers to avoid decay, and then dipped in the casters blood in a golden bowl with the image of Thoth on it. The blood is drawn off and kept in a solution of salts and essences, and saved. User must spend 3 blood traits on the ritual each additional blood point creates 4 doses of Elixir. Availability: Regent Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. By drinking the elixir the drinker is blind for ten minutes, seeing what the Device sees. The original device can be used again to recast the ritual ONLY by the original caster and at a 2 trait increase in difficulty. The Open Passage - As per LoE Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: 1 minute Components: A pattern, traced with one Blood trait Availability: 1st Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. Make a barrier impartial for 1 turn. Principle Focus of Vitae Infusion - As per LotN: R Time Required: 4 hours Duration: Until used, or destroyed Components: a Small object larger than a dime but smaller than a loaf of bread Availability: 1st Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. Sink one blood trait into a small object for later use. Purge the Inner Demon - As per LotN: StG Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: 1 hour per morality trait of the casters Components: a sturdy pin pushed through the casters hand. Availability: 7th Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. Prevent or end frenzy. You cannot perform this ritual on yourself. Target suffers a submissive trait, and can not be made to frenzy by anything non-supernatural. Purity of Flesh - As per LotN Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: 10 minutes Components: Concentrating in a lotus position, surrounded by thirteen sharp stones, and then spending a blood point. The blood point is removed being thoroughly made dirty by all the things from the targets body. Availability: 3rd Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. All foreign objects, items, drugs, liquids, or anything else in the kindred body are forced out, but not diseases, or magical effects. Rebirth of Mortal Vanity - As per LotN: StG Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: hair remains until cut Components: Strands of hair from living mortal children placed on a mirror (the hairs disappear as the ritual is cast), and gesturing in front of a mirror Availability: 3rd Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. Hair re-grows, one inch per child that hair is used from. (Can not grow hair on the naturally bald, can not change hair color or any feature other that length.) Rite of Introduction - (As per LotN: StG) This ritual must be the first one selected by all Tremere. Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: 30 seconds, reply lasts up to 5 minutes Components: a pot of tamarisk boiled in rain water; a drop of galangal oil added just before speaking. Availability: Required by all Tremere Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. This is an antiquated ritual that used to announce a new Tremere to the chantry. Speaking in to the vapors of the boiling water lets the regent in the area hear your words. Sanguineous Phial - As per LotN: StG Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: until opened or broken. Components: an earthenware jar buried for two nights. An ash leaf is crumbled in to the jar after it is dug up, and then blood is poured in, and then sealed with the tallow from a candle. Availability: 4th Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. Preserves blood in a container until seal is broken. If opened blood starts to decay at normal rate, if broken blood quickly rots as if never preserved. Scent of the Lupine's Passing - As per LotN: R, LoE Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: A scene or hour after creation Components: Milkweed, Wolf's bane, and other herbs. Availability: 6th Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. For a scene or hour you can detect Lupines. A mental challenge must be won vs. the target. You can get, gender, time of passing, and breed. The Scribe - As per LotN: StG Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: a scene or until dropped by the caster. Components: a bird's beak or lizards tongue crushed between the casters thumb and forefinger. Availability: 4th Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. Records the thaumaturgist's spoken word or words of another if desired. Sense the Mystical - As per LotN: StG Time Required: 5 minutes. Duration: until extinguished Components: A lit candle, that must be carried at all times. Availability: 4th Circle Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. Detect objects or effects touched with blood-magic. The candle light causes items touched by Thaumaturgy, Necromancy and sometimes True Magic to sparkle. Trima - As per LotN: StG Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: the drink is good until sunrise Components: Oinos mixed with spices, and a blood trait from the caster. Availability: Regent, House ab Flaidd Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: The Vine of Dionysus - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. Makes mortals Submissive and Lethargic, and they forget all details of the evening they drank this elixir. The ritual removes all the Supernatural properties of the casters blood True Sight (Diablerie Britain pg. 9) Time Required: Five minutes. Duration: One hour. Components: None. Availability: Regent Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. This ritual turns a vampire into an undead polygraph. It is often used by Justicars to catch Diabolists. Once the short ritual is performed (requiring about five minutes), the vampire's senses become amazingly enhanced, allowing her to hear the slightest quaver in a person's voice, see the minute twitching of a liar's mouth, or notice how a liar's eyes blink too much. Mechanics: True Sight only detects deliberate, willful lies. If the other party believes he is telling the truth, then what he says will appear to be true. The ritual detects the state of nervousness, not whether the truth was spoken. In effect, the Thaumaturgist has an extra Subterfuge ability and five extra social traits, for the duration of the ritual, for the purposes of subterfuge challenges that they initiate. These traits may not be bid, but are added to the caster's total for purposes of comparison or overbid. They do not aid in subterfuge challenges initiated against the caster because the ritual does nothing to alter the Thaumaturgist's ability to hide their own reactions, nor the other person's ability to perceive the Thaumaturgist s actions. To indicate that this ritual is in effect, the player should get a card denoting the extra traits and the time cast from a storyteller. Wake with Evening's Freshness - As per LotN: R Time Required: 30 minutes. Duration: until next Sunrise, once awakened, 2 full rounds. Components: ashes from a burnt feather Availability: 2nd Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. For the first 2 turns of a daytime awakening, you suffer no penalty. Ward vs. Ghouls - As per LotN: R Time Required: 10 minutes, 3 hours if permanant. Duration: one night, permanent by spending a permanent mental trait Components: A repeated invocation, a blood trait poured on to the object, an object between the size of a dagger, and a door, and a blood trait from any ghoul you wish to make immune to the ward being cast. Availability: 4th Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1, Kindred or Ghoul lore - 1. Protect an item from ghouls. You can also exclude specific ghouls. Ghouls take one Lethal every round they are in contact with the item. Weapons do one addional health level of Damage. Whisper's of the Ghost - As per LotN: StG Time Required: 10 minutes. Duration: 1 scene, starting when the caster says his first word. Components: the ear of a still living creature held in the casters left hand Availability: 3rd Apprentice Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. The ritualist may speak directly to the material world from Psychic Projection, but only in a whisper. Your Fate Shall Be Known - As per House of Tremere Time Required: 1 week Duration: Permanent, until target dies Components: Blood from the target, a small pin is used to pierce the targets eye to extract some of the vitreous humor, the caster takes an agate, and rubs the humor on to it the gem is then passed through vapors for the remainder of the casting time, at the end of that time, the gem breaks open to reveal an eye. Availability: Regent Prerequisites: Thaumaturgy: Primary Path - Basic Ability: Occult - 1. If the target of the ritual falls in to torpor, they eye closes, if target meets final death the eye crumbles to dust.
