![]() Blood - As recommended by the Laws of the Night: Revised, this chronicle will administer tests for starting blood levels at the start of each game session. A success indicates full traits, ties mean the character begins with 2/3 traits, and a loss means the character starts the evening down at 1/3 their usual traits. Round up in all cases. Disciplines requiring the expenditure of blood must be activated during the normal round only. Using blood to heal damage takes a full round. All healing rules are as per LotN:R. Hunting may be performed at any time during the night. There is no perfect rule for this due to ever changing conditions in the domain. This act must be performed with an ST who will explain the current conditions while administering a test for success. Feeding takes one full round and will drop you out of celerity if you engage in it during combat. You may take only one blood from a target per action. You cannot inflict biting damage and consume a blood trait during the same action. The rules in LotN:R regarding 'taking the mortal guise' apply as written. All blood use to increase physical traits is as per LotN:R. There are additional rules relating to blood use and combat in the Combat section. Willpower - In the interest of defending against physical, mental and social disciplines, the spending of one willpower may be used to gain a retest. There are no offensive willpower retests (with the single exception of those trying to break Majesty), and tests resulting in the spending of one willpower are the last tests in the challenge. As per LotN:R, but as a friendly reminder. Willpower may be use to replenish each trait category once and only once per night. As per LotN:R, a willpower trait may be spent to initiate a challenge involving an ability that you do not possess. It does not allow for a retest as if you did in fact have the ability, but it will allow you to take an action not normally within your realm. As per LoE, the expenditure of one (1) willpower will allow a kindred to remain awake for four (4) hours during daylight time. Penalties for being awake during daylight hours apply as normal. Any challenge that does not require the defender to risk a trait (static challenge) cannot be defended with the expenditure of willpower. (i.e. Aura Perception, Eyes of Chaos, etc..). Regarding the spending of willpower to fuel a discipline, each discipline clearly defines whether the willpower is spent before or after the challenge. All willpower spent prior to the challenge is spent regardless of the result of that challenge. You may spend willpower to avoid taking a test to see if you enter Frenzy so long as you avoid the stimulus within ten minutes. Note that you must spend this willpower before attempting the challenge to resist frenzy, and once you have opted for the challenge, you may not spend willpower to avoid frenzy. The level of Willpower any PC has can greatly affect the role-playing of that character. Please note your Willpower levels when preparing for scenes. Willpower is regained at the rate of one per week. As per LotN:R, accomplishments through adherence to your Nature will replenish lost Willpower if approved by an ST. There are additional rules relating to willpower use and combat listed in the Combat section. ![]() |
